Course  Aims

The aim of this course is to give learners the knowledge and skills required to develop a greater understanding of schizophrenia and to recognise the different types of the disorder in order to provide care and treatment to anyone with this condition.

The course is aimed at health and social care workers and healthcare professionals who provide care and treatment for people with schizophrenia.

Learners are to undertake written assessment.

Course  Content

On successful completion of this course the learner will be qualified to:

  • Operate within the legal boundaries with regard to providing to providing care and support to anyone with schizophrenia.
  • Develop a greater understanding of schizophrenia.
  • The signs and symptoms of schizophrenia.
  • The differences between schizophrenia and personality disorder.
  • Understand the diagnosis & treatment of both conditions.
  • Develop a greater awareness of the care and support for the people with schizophrenia.
