Fire Awareness (E-Learning)

Course  Aims

The aim of this E-Learning course is to give learners the essential knowledge and skills required to prevent and deal with fire in the workplace.

The course is aimed at all workers in the workplace and deals with the methods to prevent fire from occurring and the actions taken should a fire occur.  The learners will also be taught which type of fire extinguisher should be safely used on different types of fires.

Learners are to undertake online assessment.

Course  Content

On successful completion of this course the learner will be qualified to:

  • Operate within the legal boundaries with regard to fire safety in the workplace.
  • Understand the basic causes of fires in the workplace.
  • Identify the different classifications of fire.
  • Understand what elements are required for fire to occur as illustrated by the fire triangle.
  • Describe the different types of fire extinguisher and their uses.
  • Describe the actions required in the event of a fire.
