Course  Aims

The aim of this course is to give learners the knowledge and skills required to provide safe care and support to a person with Aphasia.

The course is aimed at all staff involved in the delivery of healthcare and support in all types of health and social care settings for people with Aphasia.

Learners are to undertake written assessment.

Course  Content

On successful completion of this course the learner will be qualified to:

  • Understanding the different types of Aphasia.
  • Understand the medical conditions that can cause Aphasia.
  • Recongnise the signs, symptoms and complications of Aphasia.
  • Be able to care and support somebody with Aphasia.
  • Understand how the brain is affected.
  • Understand the different methods of communication.
